When should we study?

New post

“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” - Mark Twain

In response to the question of when we should study, there are many studies on the time of day when we are most productive. However, we approached studying differently.

We often procrastinate when it comes to studying. Sometimes we don't study at all by the end of the day, even though we spent the entire day thinking we should. Such a day is wasted, both for learning and for any other activity we could have enjoyed.

This is where the above quote from the famous American writer comes in handy. If we have to eat a frog once a day, it's best to eat it as soon as possible. Otherwise, we worry about it all day and end up having to do it at the end of the day anyway. The time we spent worrying is wasted, and we still had to eat the frog. Therefore, it's best to do it as soon as possible, and the time after it can be spent without worries and dedicated to other activities in our lives.

The same applies to studying. When we could, we started studying right after we woke up. If we had any morning obligations, we took care of them as soon as possible. This way, we had plenty of the day left for other activities.
